Pla de Corrals
Pla de Corrals and surrounding villages such as Barx, Barxetta, Simat, Les Foies and Manuel etc. are set in the most beautiful mountains, situated in large areas of National Park. Within these protected areas of pine forests, wild flowers and herbs grow. These support many species of wildlife, from butterflies to eagles, red squirrels to wild boar. Enjoy painting, hiking, horse riding, cycling or a simple walk with your dog, children or grandchildren and feel completely safe and at one with nature. This is an experience not to be missed at any time of the year.
This area (in particular) is also noted for the extremely fertile soil which is ideal for garden lovers. The perfect garden, with productive fruit trees and fresh vegetables is easy to achieve (with a little effort of course!) The water here is plentiful, drinkable and extremely affordable.
Valencia is Spain’s 3rd largest city and is packed with historical interest, with its architecture, museums, art galleries and theatres. The best way to see this is by the open topped tour bus, which takes you across ancient bridges and beautiful gardens; Valencia also boasts Europe’s newest and largest Science Park and Aquarium. There is a large, all year round, indoor market, designer shops, department stores, if you prefer, browse the back streets and bric-a-brac shops. All of which can be reached by a regular, efficient, clean and cheap railway service from our local stations such as Manuel and Taverness, where parking is easy and free!
We are serviced by two main International airports, Valencia and Alicante, both of which are accessible by motorway and are within one hours distance from Pla de Corrals..
Larger nearby towns such as Xativa, Alzira, Gandia, all have something for the shopper or sightseer. Regular fiestas and nightly disco’s offer entertainment to the more energetic! Large castles overlook historic areas with beautiful winding streets to explore. There are weekly markets offering fresh local produce or the unusual gift at bargain prices. Central to all these towns there is a choice of modern hospitals and clinics plus a variety of shops, cinema’s, theatres, health and fitness clubs, indoor swimming pools, bingo, restaurants and street cafes. On the outskirts of these towns (for easy parking) are large supermarkets, D.I.Y. stores, builders suppliers and garden centres etc. can be found.
For the beach lover (only 20 minutes away). From Cullera to Denia run soft sandy beaches, ideal for sun worshipers. The beaches are all clean and safe for children. Most have showers; toilets and Red Cross facilities, there are bars, restaurants, and cafes. Or a small walk to the natural sand dunes will give you wild life areas where the rivers meet the sea for total solitude! Water sports such as boating water skiing, wind surfing, fishing and diving are all available. Cullera offers a pretty fishing port and Aqualandia a new water park, with rides to suit all ages Oliva has a large golf course, designed by Seve Ballesteros and is said to be one of the best in Europe.
